San Francisco Ballet has announced casting for the first 2 nights of Program 5 (opening night of Edward Liang’s world premiere!) and it is currently available on their ‘Casting’ page here.
Odette is pleased to share the known casting below…
…right after she informs you that these 3 distinguished pairs will be making their debuts in Edwaard Liang’s World Premiere ballet, Symphonic Dances:
Yuan Yuan Tan & Vito Mazzeo (SFB’s newest, exciting, and gorgeously matched passionate pairing from Romeo & Juliet)
Sofiane Sylve & Tiit Helimets (one of SFB’s most glamorous & silky partnerships, theirs is usually a hold-your-breath, langorous, slow sizzle that makes one’s hair stand on end, though they also tear it up in Forsythe)
Maria Kochetkova & Vitor Luiz (as in the incredibly dramatic and thrilling Onegin opening night dream team casting of Tatiana & Onegin)
OH EM GEE, peeps! Watch the Program 5 Trailer and get tickets here or miss one of the most anticipated SFB world premieres from one of the hottest choreographers in the ballet biz, Edwaard Liang, who has undeniably bonded with the artistry of the divine Yuan Yuan Tan.
Okay, now you can check casting for the rest of the program, which includes one of Helgi Tomasson’s most poetic ballets, The Fifth Season, and the haunting beauty of Jerome Robbins’ iconic Glass Pieces to the equally haunting music of Philip Glass:
